SPORTS

Basketball (Men's team)
We have a team in the Church basketball league. We play during the end of winter/spring season. The games are on various nights of the week. If interested in being on the team call 978-6915 and ask for or leave a message for Justin.

Softball (Co-ed)
We play every spring in the city league, typically with two games a week on Friday nights. If you are interested in being on the team call 347-5186 and ask for or leave a message for Sarah or Jake.

Volleyball (Co-ed)
We have a team in the Fairbanks Volleyball Association. We play during the end of winter/spring season. We play at various times on Tuesday night at the gym of Ryan Middle School. If interested in being on the team call 460-7995 and ask for or leave a message for Greg.

SERVICE

Children's Ministry Team
This team makes sure that the kids of Journey have a great Children's worship service where they have fun and encounter God and his truth in Scripture. They also help with periodic special events for the kids as well. If interested in serving with this team call Rich or Jan at 488-1596 or 978-2965.

Set Up/Tear Down Team
This team sets up and tears down Journey Church at the Regal movie theater every Sunday. For set up, those interested should plan on arriving at the theater from 8:00-8:30 a.m. Tear down is immediately following church for about 25 minutes. Worship services begin at 10 a.m. and end around 11 a.m. If interested in helping call Greg at 460-7995. Even if you can only help periodically, we could use more to help with this important ministry.

Worship Team
This team leads the congregation in the musical part of the worship service each week. They meet weekly at Farewell Avenue Christian Church to practice. If interested in helping call David at 460-0001 for more information.

PRAYER GROUP

What: An opportunity to pray together with other believers. To pray for others and to be prayed for.
When: Meets Every Thursday night except holidays
Where: Carol Brice Center
Time: Starts promptly at 6:15 p.m. We pray for a half hour.

BIBLE STUDIES

Book Discussion Group

What: Discussion of the book The Faith by Charles Colson.
This is study of what Christians believe, why they believe it, and why it matters.
When: Will meet for 8 Wednesday nights (April 2 to May 21).
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Where: Call Derek at 460-9290 for directions.
Preparation: Please have Preface, Prologue and Chapter 1 read for the first night.

Note: Adults only. No child care provided for this group.
You can purchase the book from Journey for $19.

Discovery North Pole

What: An opportunity to discover God's truth and connect with others.
Where: Various homes in North Pole.
When: Sunday nights.
Time: 5:15 p.m.

Women's Bible Study

What: An opportunity to discover God's truth and connect with others.
When: Meets every Thursday night except holidays.
Where: Denny's Restaurant on Airport Way
Leader: Donna Brumley

Note: Childcare is provided at the Carol Brice Center. Drop the kids off and then go to group at the restaurant.
Format: The ladies will study a book of the Bible; currently the group is studying Galatians & Ephesians.

Visual Bible Study

What: An opportunity to discover God's truth and connect with others. We will watch the Visual Bible of the book of Acts. It's a word for word dramatization of the New International Version of the Bible. Each week we will watch and then study a portion of the text.
Starts: Meets every Thursday night except holidays.
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Where: Carol Brice Center
