Memory Program
THE GOAL:
The goal of this program is to challenge you to memorize Scriptures from the Bible. Then, when you come up against sin, you can fight it just like Jesus did. After Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River, he went out into the desert where he was tempted by Satan three times. Each time Jesus used Scriptures that he had memorized to help him avoid sinning. Satan wants to tempt us as well. What better way to fight temptation than the way Jesus did. In addition, Scripture memorization helps transform our mind to be come more Christ-like. I encourage you to work through the levels and actually quote the Scriptures to someone else. The idea is to be able to quote everything at one time on a level before advancing. Work at your own pace. If you're like me you'll find that you'll have to go back and relearn the ones you memorized a while back, but it's easier every time. Have fun "hiding God's word in your heart."

The Beattitudes (Matthew 5:3-11 (NIV)
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are you when people insult you, q persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me."
LEVEL SEVEN
Psalms 23:1-6 (NIV)
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
LEVEL EIGHT
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (NIV)
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
1 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
2 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
3 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
4 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
5 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
6 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
6 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
